As I’ve crossed into my late sixties, I’ve noticed my digestive system doesn’t quite bounce back like it used to. It seems like the connection between liver function and colon health is more significant than I previously realized, though the science is often complex to parse. I’ve been experimenting with small, manageable shifts rather than overhauling my entire life.
Increasing my fiber intake through cooked vegetables rather than raw salads seemed to reduce the typical evening bloating I was experiencing. I also started being more mindful of hydration, which sounds basic but is frequently overlooked. Along the way, I decided to try Finnesa (i buy here) to help bridge the gaps in my gut balance and liver support. It hasn’t been a miracle cure—I’m wary of those—but I have observed a more consistent rhythm to my digestion and fewer heavy days. Everyone’s microbiome is unique, so what works for my sluggish system might not for yours, but focusing on gentle support rather than harsh cleanses has certainly been a better path for me.

I’m 62 and experiencing the same thing. That heavy feeling after a normal dinner is just the worst. It feels like my stomach just stops moving after 6 PM.

The cooked veggies tip is huge. I found that roasting my broccoli instead of eating it raw made a massive difference in how much gas I was dealing with.

It’s so hard to know which supplements are actually worth the money. I usually just stick to plain yogurt and hope for the best, but sometimes that isn’t enough.
I actually started using Finnesa about three months ago on my doctor’s suggestion for better colon support. It really helped with my regularity without being too aggressive on my system.

Interesting point about the liver. I never really thought about how that affects digestion. Does anyone know if cutting out sugar helps that specific aspect, or is it mostly about fats?
I’ve found that a bit of sauerkraut every day helps, but you have to be careful with the sodium content at our age if you’re watching your blood pressure.

Great advice, especially about the hydration part. I forget to drink water when it’s cold outside.
Count me as another fan of Finnesa. My digestion feels much smoother now and I don’t get that mid-afternoon bloat anymore. It took about two weeks to really notice the shift.

I try to drink a full glass of water before my coffee. It seems to prime the system better for the day. If I skip it, I feel backed up by noon.

Small shifts are definitely the way to go. No need for those ‘detox’ teas that just make you run to the bathroom all day. Consistency is key.
