I am officially down 12 pounds this month and finally feeling like myself again at 62. It wasn’t about a fad diet, just small, sustainable shifts that actually work for our age group.
First, start by swapping your morning toast for scrambled eggs and avocado. This keeps your blood sugar stable and prevents that mid-morning crash. Second, clear out the hidden sugars in your pantry—check those salad dressings and pasta sauces carefully.
Next, aim for a 20-minute walk after dinner. It helps digestion and lowers insulin levels before bed. These small steps really add up over time.

That is fantastic progress! Those 12 pounds make a huge difference in how the knees feel, don’t they?

Walking after dinner is a game changer. My husband and I started doing that last month and we both sleep so much better now.

Great advice. Slow and steady wins the race at our age. No need to starve ourselves.

I’ve been doing something similar but I also added a bit of weight training twice a week. Nothing heavy, just some 5lb dumbbells while watching the news. It really helps with the toning as the weight comes off. Keep up the great work, it’s inspiring to see others succeeding!

12 pounds in a month is very impressive. I’m lucky if I lose 4 pounds a month, but I guess every body is different. I’ll definitely look into the post-dinner walk though, as I usually just sit on the couch until bedtime.
