I’ve reached 36 weeks of pregnancy, so I’ll be starting a daily regimen as soon as I receive the prescription for either option.
As I understand it, acyclovir is less potent than Valtrex and needs to be taken more often, whereas Valtrex tends to be pricier. I’ve used both and personally found Valtrex better (though I haven’t been pregnant, so your doctor’s advice on what’s safest for your situation is what really matters).
